Webinar: ICD-10 for Sarcopenia

The Aging In Motion (AIM) Coalition submitted a proposal to the ICD-10 Coordination and Maintenance Committee to establish a code for sarcopenia in July of 2014. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention accepted AIM’s proposal and announced that an ICD-10-CM code would be available for the medical community to use effective on October 1, 2016. This one-hour webinar provided expert insights into the process for requesting the code addition, the value of ICD-10 data for research, and the significance of a sarcopenia code in the clinical setting.
